1. PDF Export sous Indesign 2023

   avec la nouvelle version 2023, impossible de faire des PDF ou TRES TRES LONG à faire même des Basses définitions.
   les tâches en arrière plan (copie d'écran jointe) mouline pendant des minutes et des minutes, les polices et le fichier restent "en file d'attente".
   Je vais tenté de réouvrir mon fichier sur la version 2022.

4. List Forms not working properly when exporting to interactive PDF in non latin lagunages.

   I work for a translating company, the list forms items do not export as they should be when building an interactive PDF. Latin using languages are ok, but when doing forms with non latin fonts, I get the forms, full of dots instead of proper characters. I changed the font to ARIAL Unicode MS, which displays great everywhere else, except the list forms. Other Adobe fonts, wont work either. It impossible to know if the World ready Adobe composer is activated inside the form. The rest of the document is IN Adobe World Ready composer.
   Only the first item is visible correctly when exported: In this case ਇੱਕ ਚੁਣੋ (Choose one). Please Help!

5. Page number truncated exporting to PDF (when using HarfBuzz and World-Ready Composer)

   Summary: When using HarfBuzz and the World Ready Composer, automatic fields such as the current page number are truncated to their first character when exporting to PDF.

   Steps to reproduce the problem:
   1. Enable HarfBuzz rendering mode. (Script: app.textPreferences.shapeIndicAndLatinWithHarbuzz = true;)
   2. Create a new document.
   3. Add a text frame.
   4. In the text frame, insert a marker for the current page number. (Type > Insert Special character > Markers > Current page number.)
   5. Set the paragraph justification to use Adobe World Ready Composer.
   6. Change the page numbering in some way so that the page number will have more than one character. e.g. Layout > Numbering & Section Options > Start at page 8, using roman numerals.
   7. Create a few additional pages, likewise each displaying the page number. (e.g. viii, ix, x, xi...)
   8. Export to PDF.

   Desired behavior: Page numbers appear as in InDesign. e.g. vii, ix, x, xi.

   Actual behavior: Only the first character of each page number appears. e.g. v, i, x, x

   Versions of InDesign tested: This happens in 17.4. It does not happen in 16.4.3.

6. Font issue inDesign 2023

   I'm getting a font issue when I use 2023. If I go back to 2022 the issues disappears. The font is loading fine in both versions. Any idea why this is happening?

7. PDF/X-1a:2001 does don't export files correctly

   PDF/X-1a:2001 does don't export files correctly and causes a visual discrepancy in Acrobat from the small page view to the larger page view. When combing PDFs the discrepancy is transferred over and does not appear correctly.

8. Export does not work in InDesign 18.1

   Often, Export does not work when I have been working with a document (typically 60-120 minutes). The application has to be quit and restarted; Export will then work. Version 18.1; macOS 12.6.2

9. Acrobat freezes/crashes when exporting as PDF from InDesign

   When we export PDFs with "View PDF after Exporting" checked, Acrobat sometimes freezes up and we need to force-quit it. InDesign also freezes. During the crashing process, the PDF is created normally. Our workaround is to uncheck that box, but that's not ideal because we've always had it on for 10+ years and are used to automatically reviewing the PDFs before sending them to clients, etc. We are saving to a NAS Drobo using AFP. Can this be fixed?

   InDesign 17.3, Acrobat 22.1.20112.0, Apple M1 Pro, macOS 12.2

10. Adobe PDR printer settings option missing

    Hello dear Adobe team,
    my problem is as following: When printing Booklet in my custom settings I am missing Adobe PDF printer option. I cant even install Adobe printer from control panel as suggested here: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/add-pdf-printer-manually.html because there is no Adobe PDF option in "Use existing port" option. Could you please help me with this? I am also adding a few screenshots of the problem.

    When exporting a Thai document to PDF, footnote numbering goes wrong after the ninth footnote.

    InDesign 17.4 (on Apple M1)

    To reproduce,

    1. Create nine footnotes however.
    2. Create a new paragraph wholly in Thai (which you can do by copying something over from the Thai Wikipedia, or just the following text: ย่อหน้า.)
    3. Place a cursor behind some distinctly Thai character (i.e., a consonant or vowel, not a punctuation mark).
    4. Insert the tenth footnote.
    5. Write the tenth footnote wholly in Thai.
    6. Export the document to PDF

    The footnote number (as a superscript) in the body should be 10, and the corresponding footnote number in the footer should be 10.

    But you'll find that the footnote number (as a superscript) in the body is just 1, and the footnote number in the footer is just 1 as well, as shown in the leftmost column of the PDF file attached.

    Some more information:

    • The footnote number in the body is correct when the paragraph is in English.
    • The footnote number in the footnote is correct when the footnote is in English.
    • This bug is serious. Its existence means that InDesign simply doesn't support the creation of Thai documents with more than nine footnotes.

12. failed to export

    Myself and 1 other colleague working on windows computer constantly get a 'PDF failed to export' message. Even on brand new small documents. Another colleague working on a Mac is able to export the same documents. We are all running on the same version.

13. InDesign 2022 PDF Export Failure with macOS Monterey

    Since updating to macOS Monterey v. 12.3.1, InDesign (V 17.2) will frequently fail to export a PDF to a data server. I will attempt to export, and it will fail, but when I export to the downloads folder, it works just fine. That issue also extends to when I create an imposed job using the plug-in HP SmartStream. The temporary file will load on the server, but once SmartStream completes, it will disappear. Exporting to the downloads folder works for that too. There's no rhyme or reason as to when it happens, and I never had this issue before updating to Monterey (I was on Catalina for a long time).

    Since updating to macOS Monterey v. 12.3.1, InDesign (V 17.2) will frequently fail to export a PDF to a data server. 14. 2023 InDesign PDF:

    Bleeds are not appearing when importing InDesign PDF into 2023 InDesign document using Monterey 12.2.1, even though we have accepted the document bleed settings in the preferences. The same exact file works in the previous versions (2022, 2020, 2019)

15. Critical PDF Export Issue - InDesign 17.4

    The font "Josefin Slab Thin" is "active", while it simultaneously errors that it can't find it, and continues trying to download the font in the background. I tried exporting the file on 2 different Adobe accounts and had the same issue with this font. Upon attempting to uninstall InDesign through the CC app, the "uninstall" button 'clicks' but does nothing. No loading button or anything.

16. URL Hyperlinks not working

    I am working on MacOS Ventura (brand-new update, November 9 2022) in the most up-to-date version of InDesign. Had the same problem on the latest Mac system as well.

    My hyperlinks are trying to "link to destination" and won't open, even though I have unchecked "Shared Hyperlink Destination" and have "link to URL" selected. See screenshot for the popup shown by Acrobat when you try to click the link.

    I have tried everything, no clue what to do. Please help.

17. Critical Bug with Font embedding on PDF Export - InDesign 17.2 and up

    OS: Windows 10
    Version: InDesign 17.2 and 17.2.1

    After the update to 17.2 and 17.2.1 the font embedding is not working properly anymore on PDF Export. It does not matter if we export to PDF/X-3 or smallest file size.

    The font in question here is Roboto Slab.
    After a downgrade to 17.1 everything worked properly. An upgrade to 17.2.1 again produced the same error.

    Expected result: propper font integration
    Actual result: Missing embedded font, text is torn apart, missing characters

18. export with spread option ignores page range

    Export with spread option ignores page range

    I've got an InDesign document with a 6 page spread.
    When I export to pdf and select the spread option with a page-range of page 3-6, page 1 and 2 are also included.

    This happens in InDesign 17.4 en 18. Not sure about older versions.

19. Missing Glyphs on PDF export in InDesign v17.0

    using the google font Signika, quotation marks and colons give me a missing glyph upon export to pdf. When using v16.4, this is not an issue.

20. Output settings don't appear to be saved in Adobe PDF presets anymore in Indesign 17.4

    I rely on Adobe PDF Presets in Indesign. In version 17.4, it appears that output settings saved in custom presets are not observed anymore. I had a preset for low res pdfs with colour settings in output set to RGB values for online viewing. Worked great for years. Now I have to go in and turn off "all spots to Process" all the time.
