1. Please add "Default search scope" to the Preferences

   Hi, Adobe design team!
   I'm sorry to say, but NEVER IN MY LIFE have I wanted to search for something inside a single Story. It's kinda infuriating to have to switch to "Document" as the Search scope every time. Can we please have the chance to change, what is our default?

2. Deselect files in Book-Panel

   It would be nice if there was an option in the book panel to deselect all book files. If there are a lot of files (in my case over 100), it is very difficult to do this. You have to click very precisely between two entries, which can be very tedious. A menu item "Delesect all" in the book menu would therefore be very desirable.

3. Restore adjustment arrows in Transform window for X/Y and W/H values

   When InDesign updated to the 2024 version, I lost the ability to use the Essentials Classic layout with the Properties bar at the top instead of the right, and in the Transform window, either as part of the Properties bar or on its own, lost the up and down adjustment arrows with seemingly no way to bring them back. I prefer being able to make tiny adjustments by sixteenth increments rather than at random or just eyeballing it and this change is absolutely driving me insane. I've rolled back to the previous version for now, but I know you all won't let that stand for long. Please restore the option to have incremental adjustment arrows and a top bar for Properties.

5. Option for Overprint to apply to black text only (not graphics) by default

   It would be great to have two options in Preferences for how overprint behaves.
   Appearance of Black Objects: Overprint Swatch at 100% (tick or untick)
   Appearance of Black Text: Overprint Swatch at 100% (tick or untick)

   I spend a ton of time correcting black on graphics before printing files and it can be quite fiddly at times with illustrations. This would save so much time + printing errors when I miss stuff!

6. Find/Change filter by Alternate Layout

   I frequently create alternative layouts for product docs aimed at UK and US markets.

   Where codes and serials need changing across an entire range, it would be great to find/replace by Layout, not the entire document.

7. Indesign Online Dashboard improvements - Custom URL, Google analytics, Fname direct to send clients

   Indesign is hands down the best software to design & create digital brochures with its advanced technology & features its impeccable. HOWEVER talking about the Online Dashboard System its not leading the industry.

   I've done my research and a lot of the online digital brochure creator websites are ahead.

   I will list below a few new ideas/features I'd love to see Adobe implement to put them back in the lead when it comes to the publishing feature.
   (Some of these ideas are already being done by the online companies)

   <> Custom URL, so it looks more professional to clients rather than it saying "Ind.Adobe" with loads of numbers following it.

   <> While on the subject of the URL, it would be fantastic if we could customise the cover photo/thumbnail rather than it showing the adobe logo, I'd like to show my brands logo. It would be a great feature for when we send the link in WhatsApp

   <> Better and more analytics rather than just the 3-4 basic ones. The more the better it really helps to understand as much as possible. (gender/location/where they found the link/social media and so much more)

   <> To go one better a collaboration to implement Google Analytics

   <> Name tags - (I don't actually know what this is called) I'm sure you've all seen it when setting up emails in mailchimp for example 'Fname', then it automatically inserts the clients name.
   It would be fantastic if this feature could be inserted inside the brochure, so the client feels like the brochure itself is personal to them.
   Then instead of the traditional 'Publish Online' button, it has a send to box and when you enter each clients name & email it automatically fills the name and sends the Custom URL link to that specific client.

   I think finally I'm done.

   I have so many ideas so anyone that works at Adobe if you're struggling for new features you can give me a call🤣

   Thank you and I hope other Indesign fans will see these features as benefits, I look forward to seeing them on the platform soon.

11. Add space before when first on page

    When there is a Title which is set to be first on page, in some cases it is needed to have some space before. For example, chapter title. It is easier to set that through Paragraph Style than to set as a box feature. That feature existed in Xerox Ventura Publisher more than 30 years ago, and exists in Affinity Publisher. It is one smole checkbox in Indent and Spacing, but a big help for us who are in book layout business.

    Password protecting "publish online" EPUB documents would be extremely valuable for my work. A lot of my files contain sensitve information that need to remain with the business.

16. Samsung Monitor Not Detecting HDMI fixes

    If your samsung monitor not detecting hdmi then you should know about some fixes read below:

    1. Try a different HDMI port. If your monitor has multiple HDMI ports, then you should try connecting the HDMI cable to a different port.
    2. Restart the monitor and the source device you should always update your monitor firmware to the latest version.

    Please ad the ability to customize a font menu. In order, with colour across all software and the ability for it to over-ride current files with that same custom menu.
    The favourites is just not as powerful at custom order and colour coding for each kind of font style.
