The A4 size
The size of the A4 pages are not accurate. Normal size is 11.0x8.3 inches. Also since printers don't print all the way to the edge the documents go out of whack to try to adjust. I'm making a theatrical program for a school project and have had to get very creative with my solutions, wasting a lot of paper in the process.

alignment and custom footnotes etc
I would like to see some more feature as described below, so this powerful too will be a step ahead for an Advance Page Layout tool. Here are some of them:
Some custom footnotes so can can add daggers and other symbols exactly like MSWord not the current features. This should be like first symbol, then 1, 2, 3 etc.
Customizing Text box sequence so it will be more intuitive for numbering figures. Think about I've add 100 of figures numbering text box using numbering features, then at editing page need to rearrange/adding/remove some figures, in this it won't work…

同表寬度壹樣，表頭行也是需要不斷從壹個表設置到另壹個，重復勞動，枯燥無味。網絡上也有人寫了壹個自動化處理表頭行的腳本，但這個腳本在遇到表格第壹行有合並單元格或第壹行某些列中有多個單元格時，會停止工作。遇到表格只有壹行時，也會停止工作。請在表樣式中增加選項，自動設置表頭行功能。1 vote -
Glyphs reseting
I use "Find/Change > Glyph" to replace some Bulgarian (BGR)/Russian (RUS) glyphs to Macedonian (MK) ones. But, when I ALT click on a altered paragraph style (with + sign next to it) which contains the MK glyphs -- they are reseted to BGR/RUS glyphs.

Create Picture Index with Page numbers
I need to edit documents with hundreds of pages and I use Paragraph Styles to create automatic alphabetical indexes that will work has hyperlinks when I export do PDF.
Nevertheless, sometimes it's more practical to have a picture índex when working with product catalogues.
It would be very usefull to have the Content collector tool to allow to create automatic hyperlinks to the page where I collected the pictures in order to create na automatic Picture Index with page numbers.The attached file makes it easy to understand.

Alphabetize Print Presets
When I create print presets they are in order of the first one created to the last. I have many and it makes it difficult to find the one I am looking for. If they automatically sorted alphabetically that would make my life so much easier!

Please start using the standard path location of files. I'm struggling with data merge handling thousands of images, which I would like to structure. Now I have to place all images within the main project folder, which makes it really messy.
This is not the way it should work, especially as we use this document on several different computer - which would make us change the master data every time we work with it.

Conditional Text Pallet
Please add the "Show and Print" option next to the "eye" in the "Conditional Text" palette in the form of check-boxes, so that everyone can choose which condition should be printed and which only displayed. Now you can only do this in bulk for all defined conditions.
This will be very useful in the arrangements between the editorial office and the dtp.

Incorporate iCloud Filemanagement
As my MacBooks SSD isn't too big I've enabled iCloud's storage feature. InDesign doesn't really like when macOS suddenly decides to delete the local copy of files I've embedded into my document and it's a hassle to deal with because there is no way to redownload all the files I need within InDesign. It would be super useful to see a better description of what happened with an embedded file and have to opportunity to download it without having to jump into Finder.
I've read that Apple made it possible to delete a local copy of a file in macOS…

In some projects we use spread number instead of page number. Please make it possible to use spread number like page numbers.

Add to TOC checkbox for Paragraph Style Options window
While working on a project with lots of styles it will be hard to decide all the styles on TOC window. It will be useful to select TOC styles on Paragraph Style Options window.

Vertical Pages Placement
Vertical Pages Placement would be ideal for creating emails and web pages quicker. (Please see the attached image to understand what I am referring to)
The idea is to created the pages vertically at the correct pixel size and in the correct flow order of the email/webpage design, that once the design is complete you can easily export the individual element as separate .jpg or .png etc.
When looking at the numbers on the different boxes (Pages) I would like to be able to place number 6 next to box 5 on the right so it aligns with the rest…

Return the ability to place text on top of a photo in InDesign
I've done all the current Adobe CC upgrades (InDesign, Photoshop Illustrator), and Mac OS Catalina, and suddenly I can't place text on top of a photo while working in an InDesign document. It used to be no problem!

In the 'EPUB export warning(s)' dialog box, make the problem description copyable
Sometimes when exporting a book to EPUB, the 'EPUB export warning(s)' dialog pops up.
The most obvious action for the user is to examine his documents to figure out what went wrong.
But that dialog box is modal. The user must close it before proceeding.
Sure, it would be nice to make that dialog box non-modal, so that the user could look at their documents while having the problem descriptions available.
Lacking that feature, though, you could make it easy to copy the problem text to another app (such as Windows Notepad). You allow the first step: Letting the user…

Unify font filtering across all relveant dialogues
Give the Paragraph and Character Styles Basic Character Formats dialogue the ability to filter like the Character panel in the Properties window.

Publish Online one and two pages in the same document
When I Publish Online a document, I want to see 1 page of my published Indesign document while my device is in vertical condition and 2 pages while I have it in horizontal state.
