Right Click on object -> Move/Copy it to any Layer
Sometimes when you want to move or copy an object from one layer to another, it can become a bit cumbersome if you're working with a lot of layers and those layers themselves have a lot of files.
So my suggestion is to add a menu shortcut when you right click on any object to move that object to any available layer.
See crude example below.
Thank you.

Create a shortcut after a program update
When InDesign (or any other Adobe app is updated), I have to find the old shortcuts, delete them, hunt for the new program version and manually create a new shortcut and pin it to the taskbar. Is there a way to automate this or make it easier? Can it be done in CC?

Add "Repeat last action" feature, as is done in Word by pressing the F4 key
Let's say I perform some action with some object. For example, I change the cell fill, or paragraph keep options, or page size, or anything else. I want to be able to go to another place in the document (or in another document), select another object and press the shortcut to repeat the same action with it.
MS Word and Powerpoint can do so and it's very convenient.2 votes -
Animated GIF and MP4 export
It would be great if InDesign exported a document with animated elements in animated gif and mp4. In this way, it would be a much simpler task to make animated posts for social media using Data Merge. Another alternative would be to allow Media Encoder to accept InDesign files with animated elements, in the same way that Media Encoder can already do with Photoshop files.

Presets for Jpeg quality and resolution exports
For some digital we have file size limits and need to export at lower resolution higher compression, but for others we need exports at the highest quality. It would be nice to have presets for exporting so we don't need to keep updating the output settings for each project.

Add Date function to the Interactive Forms Creator in IND
Add ability to put date formatting into the IND form creator (ie MM/DD/YYYY) - its a PAIN to add this in Adobe Acrobat AFTER I create a form in IND (especially when I have to make a change to the form within InDesign, I have to go back and re-add all of the places where I used Adobe Acrobat for date fields.)

InDesign Cannot Artifact Leader Dots (Accessibility)
InDesign has no way of artifacting leader dots. This can only be done in PDF. Leader dots are commonly used in tables of contents to guide the reader's eye from the end of the entry to the page number. Leader dots are voiced by access technologies such as screen readers and force users with disabilities to hear, "DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT DOT ..." If they are not artifacted. This is a painstaking process that requires InDesign users to learn PDF Remediation,…

InDesign App for Ipad
We want an app version of InDesign for the iPad. It’s time.
Now that Ipad has the same M processor as computers and more and more people/colleagues who work on the move are choosing the Ipad solution. Possibly with the ability to access files directly from an external drive (usb-c is now standard on Ipad too) and not just through the cloud.
When we travel there is not always the possibility of having access to an internet network. Adobe competitors are giving alternative solutions to InDesign for Ipad. With what we pay for the subscription, I believe you have to…2 votes -
Make PNG/JPG Exports Background Tasks
As the topic says... having the export of PNG/JPG files as a background task would be extremely helpful for those of us working in comics and doing high volumes of rendering work.
Likewise, making this a multithreaded/parallel process for speed and efficiency would also be highly appreciated.

Page Layout Management in Bridge for InDesign Files
It would be extremely beneficial to have a feature in Bridge that can interact with InDesign files, allowing for the visualization of individual pages directly within the Bridge interface. Furthermore, the ability to compose an overall layout for a magazine or book from separate pages in Bridge, or another similar software, would significantly improve the workflow for many users.
This feature could save us countless hours, improve collaboration between teams, and potentially revolutionize the way we create composite pieces.
I look forward to hearing from you on this suggestion.

PLEASE give us a HISTORY panel in InDesign
It would make life so much easier for us to have a HISTORY panel. Photoshop does a fabulous job with this and I sorely miss it in InDesign. Yes, I know I can CTRL/Z, but the problem with that is that this is difficult to negotiate on a long document with many changing elements. It is very hard to remember just where I changed a style, or exactly which changes InDesign is making with each CTRL/Z. It is also very time consuming and it would really be a huge help with my workflow and save me a lot of time…

Accessibility Layer or Plugin
As accessibility becomes a prioritized feature of all documents, its pertinent to include it without sacrificing aesthetics, which is Adobe's strength. One idea for this is for the designer to create the InDesign document as they normally would on an initial layer, and upon a secondary "layer" the plain text for an e-reader could be supplied, mapped to the corresponding visual layer. This could be a less destructive method than physically altering text box widths to avoid soft returns/rags, or creating new text boxes for each text/paragraph style. It would also export ready to go without further alteration in Acrobat.…

Search QR Codes when Finding/Replacing
I'm not sure if this is categorized correctly, but it would be nice if we are searching to fix text in a document that it also search and replace text that is used in QR codes so they don't get missed and are more easily fixed.

Microsoft Publisher to InDesign
We often are provided with Microsoft Publisher files to work with from our customers and need to work on these within InDesign. As we are running on MAC we can't open them. Would be great if InDesign had a built in method of reading .pub files.

ID to create animated gif for social media.
You already have the animation panel for ID to PDF in the software. Please extend this so that ID can create graphics for social media posts. If we can do this for PDF, please extend the privilege to gifs. Thank you.

InDesign - Lightroom "Edit with"
I really wish I could easily go between Lightroom and InDesign. I regularly create proposals etc in InDesign and load in images that print dark. I would love the ability to right click and edit in Lightroom. Lightroom is far better/intuitive for me for basic edits of images than Photoshop. You offer Edit in: Photoshop, After effects etc. In Premiere you offer many options but not Lightroom. Seems like it would (as a side benefit) encourage use of another of your products.

Please make it for ChromeOS
The only thing I still use computers for is mild browsing when I need a larger screen than my phone, and creating a program once a year for a convention. I don't want to invest $600+ in a laptop just to use InDesign when my Chromebook is more than enough for everything else. Please make it accessible either online or for ChromeOS. It's long overdue.

We need a way to convert PagerMaker files to ID files
I know that I am not the only person, that there are many of us, who were loyal Pagemaker users for many years and now have a big archive of PM files. Adobe pages says that they can be opened with ID CS6, but that doesn't work for me, my CS6 gives me a message that I need a plug-in, but that plug-in isn't available anywhere. I know I'm not the only person who has asked for a plug-in to convert PM files. Please do something about this. Adobe is really failing us.

For the love that all is good and right, please provide an option to disable the "missing fonts" dialogue box upon opening files.
For those of us who have, for years, been opening InDesign files where we know there are missing fonts, we've literally wasted several weeks of our lives clicking the "skip" button. Can you please include a preference that allows us to turn-off this feature?
