Zero Point manipulation like illustrator
I would like the ability move the 0,0 point crosshairs to an arbitrary place, copy an object, move to a different page or spread, move the zero point arbitrarily, and then paste the object into the exact same place relative to the 0,0 point, as in illustrator.

if you have to open more then one indd file, and some of this files have missing or modify links you get just this simple message. But you dont know which document contains missing links. and if i will open 10 files at once, a have go thru all this files to find out which file have missing links. I know i can use book and run preflight, but that is to much of work :)
Can you just add name of the file in to this message box? Like picture 03?

Home icon is a pain
Very often when I need to click on the File menu I clicking on the Home icon instead, which is useless for me and I'm going to the Home screen on InDesign instead of making the routine operations in File menu.
Can you move that Home icon somewhere else? For instance, can you move it after the Help menu or can you allow to change its position in Settings?

Bring back Click-and-Drag character and paragraph interface
The scale scrubbers on the control panel/menus that allowed us to click and drag to adjust character size, tracking, line spacing, etc. were invaluable. It allowed us to see the changes as we were making them. Please bring them back! It takes me about eight times as long to lay out text now.

Ability to make frame handles larger
Ability to make frame handles larger to enable better user experience when adjusting boxes using a touch screen. They are too small at the moment for accurate grabbing.

Page picker when placing PDF
Please add a page picker (overview of all pages) when placing a PDF, INDD or AI file like when you drag a PDF into Photoshop. It would speed up the process of placing different pages enormously

Custom/favorite zoom
Especially when working on a small laptop while traveling, I like to use a couple of zoom levels that are non-standard, and have to keep retyping the percentages in the bottom left of the screen.
For example, I frequently want to zoom to the width of a page's text frame, not including the margins, which on my current laptop is 100%. That's easy because it corresponds with one of the present zoom levels.
But I also frequently zoom to show a spread's text frames; I don't want to waste my precious laptop screen space on the margins away from the…

Find and Search
Perform multiple Find and replace with saved queries. I get a lot of standard documents that require the same find and replace. There isn't a record action button like the other Adobe products so it would be great to have that or run multiple queries at the same time.

Show the year-based version name in the about window
I'd like to see the YEAR based version name of each product, in the About window. Today I need to visit Wikipedia to check what the version numbers mean.

switching documents
Make so using Ctrl + Tab switches between open documents in the correct order. Currently, they switch based on the order that you opened them. If you mix them up and try to switch between them, you'll end up hopping all over the place.

Allow closing of "Adobe InDesign 2020" palette
Please allow closing of the "Adobe InDesign 2020" palette completely. I was able to extract it off the top of the top toolbar, but there's literally no way to close it and nothing in it that I would ever use on a regular basis. And I already know I'm in InDesign 2020—I don't need to lose 20 or 30 pixels all the way across the top of my screen telling me that, and I certainly don't need it lying fallow covering up part of my screen once I move it out of the top palette area.

Solo Mode for Properties Panel
Okay, I love the new Properties panel, and the fact that it is a work in progress. As it gets longer, instead of scrolling too much, could there be an option of putting the sections of the Properties panel into Solo Mode similar to Lightroom?

Allow us to minimize the application in a window, like any other reasonable, modern day application. I mean, seriously, wtf?

Conditional Text Pallet
Please add the "Show and Print" option next to the "eye" in the "Conditional Text" palette in the form of check-boxes, so that everyone can choose which condition should be printed and which only displayed. Now you can only do this in bulk for all defined conditions.
This will be very useful in the arrangements between the editorial office and the dtp.

Edit Variable dialog: highlight Text text box first instead of variable name to work faster
In the Edit Variables dialog box, It would work faster on a daily basis if the third text box, named Text, would be the one highlighted for change. In a context where you define all your templates then reuse them, when you use variables, it is only to change them. So most used text box is the third one in the Edit variable dialog box.
We would save a lot of time if, when we click to edit a variable, the 3rd text box is highlightes for change.

Improve style panels
Three things that would be amazing for the styles panels (we use a lot of styles, so managing them better would be a huge boon):
1) Snap the current folder you're in to the top of the panel once it scrolls out of view, so it's easy to close the folder you're in once you're done.
2) Include some way of viewing the "based on" hierarchy all at once rather than having to go into a style's properties to see what's contingent on what.
3) Have labelling and filtering as per photoshop's layers panel - so you can find and…
