Media Panel is missing all playback settings for MP4 files in InDesign 2020
CC 2020 is missing all its control settings for playing MP4 files in an interactive pdf. Until this year's upgrade you had multiple options on what Controller Functions appeared when playing/displaying MP4's in an Interactive PDF document.
Navigation Points have been re-introduced in the Media panel. This feature is available in the latest release of InDesign (version 16.0). Please use this release to use Navigation Points for Video/Audio files.
However, the Controller options will not be available. As communicated earlier, all options (Controller options being one of them) related to Flash/Flash player have been removed from InDesign as Flash Player is now being EOL’d (End of Life).
WTF why would you remove that?
back to powerpoint...thanks for deleting my ID 6.0 too
media tab comes and goes.. please advise

Is anyone from Adobe listening to us?
This needs fixing, come on guys. I've been an advocate of Adobe since I used to have to buy it out of a box... 1994 in fact. Please respond.
When are you going to fix this????? I'm paying €50 a program that doesn't work!!!!
My first time trying to use indesign for a presentation with video and I discover no visible player controls after pdf output. Apparently under review means, sorry, you're gonna have to deal with that for the foreseeable future.
OMG seriously! What the ****. Why has this not been fixed yet? We had it before. this is crazy.
i'm trying to add a video on indesign 2020, but it's not working.
I can also confirm this is happening inside Acrobat Pro DC when adding MP4 Videos using Rich Media.
Things not working are Playback Control Not Working/ Saving, "Disable When" Settings. Maddening when 3 Videos Audio is playing simultaneously.
No point of having video's if you can't control them.
Has this been resolved yet? I seem to be having the same issue many months later.

Ouch. This shouldn't have been removed.
ridiculous. need to be fixed asap, dishing out 50$ for broken features.
Wow 6 months ago they were told about this problem and still no change/solution.
I had to disappoint a client who needed the use of this feature.
I think this is very amateurish not listening to the users needs of one of the biggest file standards in the world. Ridiculous, I would totally turn my back on Adobe but have a CC subscription thru my work. Been publishing tons of PDFs with video over the years. Usually software is getting better over the years except Adobe?
i found the media button thanks to reading the comments. you have to go to window>interactive>media and the button will return
Why did you remove the features within this to begin with?
And how do I now link a video online to play within my document? Is there another way of doing this or have you removed this all together in 2020.
And it’s still not fixed? 🙀
Has this been resolved? We have clients in an urgent need

Yes, I agree with the chorus that is singing the need of the media control panel in Adobe Indesign's controller and navigation features. I work in the industry of technical writing and have used Adobe indesign to write user guides for clients. As I am updating guides to make the print media be more interactive it is sad to see that this basic control function is not present in the more up to date versions of InDesign. I have had to install a legacy version of the software to even be able to work with this but I know that at some point I will have to find another way or software to get what i need out of technical writing. In testing how well the media gets exported I see that Flash player will no longer be supported as of December 2020? How will this affect media that is imbedded in interactive PDFs? Please let me know! I need to find a solution if this will not allow videos to play beyond Dec 2020.
