1. New Project Window, please sync with Main Window

   1. I create a New Window for the project I'm working on, and place it on a second monitor. I do this to see the presentation mode while I edit. But when I move to new pages/spreads on the Main Window, this is not reflected in the New Window. That's not a big problem if I've moved one or two spreads. But if I have moved by a hundred pages on the Main Window, it takes a long time to move the New Window these 100 pages too.

   2. It would be a really nice feature if InDesign had a Presentation Mode for 2nd Monitor that would stay in sync with the movement between pages on the Main Window. I'm surprised InDesign does not already have this feature.

   Missing support for "TDM", "PDF/UA" and "PLUS License Data Format" in XMP-Metadata in all Adobe apps.
   There are not data fields for "TDM" (text-and-data-mining), PDF/UA (accessibility) and "PLUS License Data Format" in the UI of all Adobe apps.
   This information can currently only be added manually by import of an XML-Snippet-File in the tab "raw-data".

6. Hide pages no spreads

   The HIDE feature is excellent, and we have used it in many ways. HOWEVER, hiding individual PAGES would be more useful than SPREADS. In this example, we have background images running over multiple spreads (panels mounted on a wall with various gutter widths). Turning off the 'blank' pages (different parent pages for each gap).

8. Sequential frames

   Having more options for frames to make them sequential, for instance if I have 20 text frames for 20 files or pages instead of clicking to insert into each frame if we were able to number them or perhaps a checkbox when creating them to create sequential ones, so that when we click the first one it automatically places the following pages or files into the next frames. Kind of like how you link text boxes to continue the text except with the frames.

   I would like to suggest a potential new feature that would further improve accessibility and efficiency in design. 10. InDesign Cannot Set Actual Text (Accessibility)

    InDesign Cannot Set Actual Text

    InDesign has no way of setting actual text. This can only be done in PDF. Actual text is set when acronyms are used. Access technologies such as screen readers cannot properly read acronyms such as USA. They voice them as words, like "Youusah." Actual text has to be set for the document to be read correctly. This is a painstaking process that requires InDesign users to learn PDF Remediation, a highly specialized skillset that is typically outside the role of the average Graphic Designer. Currently, the process for setting actual text in Acrobat is as follows: Find the acronym in the Tags tree. Open the Accessibility tool and choose Reading Order. Drag a marquee over the acronym and tag it as what it is – paragraph/text or a heading level. The Tags tree will collapse. Open the Tags tree again to find the new acronym Tag. Right click on the new acronym Tag and choose “Properties”. Type the acronym with spaces between each letter in the Actual Text field, for example “U S A.” Spaces will cause the acronym to be read correctly. This issue affects EVERY SINGLE InDesign user who is required to make accessible content. Please make setting actual text an option within InDesign so painstaking remediation is not required.

11. ChatGPT Integration in InDesign for Text Editing and Proofreading

    Please add an option in InDesign to integrate text review using ChatGPT. Ideally, this would function as a standalone panel, where we could log in with our own ChatGPT account. Through this panel, we would be able to have the text checked either as a proofreader or as an editor in a special mode—for instance, if the text overflows, it could be shortened to fit the box or page. Similarly, it could generate titles based on the text.

13. Add Options to remove bleeds and cropmarks while Import PDF comments

    Sometimes I get PDF files with corrections to be applied to the next printing addition.
    Usually publishers apply such corrections to the production PDF, with format cropmarks .
    InDesign can import the PDF without bleeds and crop marks (as you turn on the import options), But.... unfortunately PDF Comments, there is no such option that you can opt out of crop marks and bleeds, etc.

14. Examine an Existing PDF and Use Its Exporting Settings

    Add the ability for Indesign (and other PDF-creating CSS apps) to read the settings used to create an existing PDF.

    I understand that this would require new PDF format feature: the ability to store the PDF creation settings in a PDF file directly. (I've added that suggestion as "Include PDF Export Settings in PDF Files" under the Acrobat feature request section.)

    The goal is for a user to be able to easily export a new PDF with the same export settings as those of an existing PDF—something which is currently frustratingly difficult to do.

    When there is an update to an already translated file, and when we need to extract and resend the XML file which contains both the new content and the already translated content, the XML should contain unique attributes for the body content or must atleast have an option to tag the translated content with one specific attribute and the new content with a different one so that the translation team can identify the differences and just translate the new only.

17. Test internal page hyperlinks in presentation mode

    I don't know if this can even be possible, but it would be great to be able to test internal page hyperlinks in presentation mode (command + W), so that I don't have to export the PDF every time to test, rectify and test again. It will be especially useful for interactive PDFs with 100+ pages.

    Importing an image via .CSV or .TXT file requires the use of an absolute @IMAGE link, it would be very convenient, for file sharing purposes, for this link to recall the files from the folder where the INDESING file resides, using a relative @IMAGE link, using a relative @IMAGE link.

20. Emoji for Print: Update EmojiOne Color and Support COLR Fonts

    I work for a large book publisher and more and more books (especially YA) include a lot of emoji. To the point that having to replace all emoji with art is a tedious process. For workflow efficiency and for accessibility issues, we utilize emoji fonts and convert them to outline, then color correct for print (grayscale or CMYK). That way we can support diverse emoji and preserve the unicode values so that characters are maintained as manuscripts go from Word to InDesign.

    Right now, emoji fonts that support shading and skin tone/hair color options come in two flavors--OpenType SVG and OpenType COLR. Neither is supported by print PDF standards. OpenType COLR is not yet supported in Adobe software. We are limited to OpenType SVG, which we have to convert to outline to export to PDF (for print standards and for colorspace). We are further limited by the individual font behavior of convert to outline (for example, Noto Emoji Color SVG has horrible character fidelity when converted to outline).

    Adobe's emoji font, EmojiOne Color, version 1.0000, only has emoji up to unicode 9.0, which was released in 2016. Any newer emoji are not available.

    My requests:
    --Update EmojiOne Color with new emoji releases and keep it up to date.
    --Add support for OpenType COLR in Adobe software.
    --(The Dream): Create an emoji font designed for print that:
    +Has CMYK or Grayscale options (emoji fonts are web based and RGB [we would still need RGB for ebook], but putting this thought out there to not forget print)
    +Has shading so that skin tones, hair options, etc. are possible.
    +Uses emoji unicode
    +Works in Adobe software, exports to PDF and embeds for print, is supported in EPUB.
