Hyperlink to open a file in server doesn't work
Hi
Here's my problem.
I try to make a pdf with hyperlinks that lead to some files. (Jpg,doc,xlsx...)
Those files are on a server shared by all my colleagues.
But the link never work in the pdf.
Acrobat or other pdf reader try to connect to internet instead of opening the files. whatever the option i choose in the hyperlink pannel, i see that indesign add url=http before my link.
Anyone know how we could fix that bug ???2 votes -
BUG? Random grey bars on screen in ID CC
I'm trying out ID CC and opened an ID C6 file to test. There are grey bars that appear randomly on screen. Not in fit in window view but in any other view when zoomed. Please see attached screen shot of the grey bars.
I'm using a 13" MacBook Pro (2017) with 16GB RAM. Under preferences, Display Performance is set to default and CPU Performance shows Compatible CPU and Monitor Detected.
How to resolve this?

Same shortcuts for all Adobe products (the most important one)
A lot of shortcuts are totally different for each programm of adobe. This is confusing. I think the most important shortcuts should be always the same for each adobe programm

Feature Request (or bug report) in InDesign directly
When working, I get many ideas who to improve InDesign or what's missing or getting wrong in InDesign. And then I'd like to have a fast feature request form directly out of InDesign. But instead of this I getting forwarded to this forum and that's really to much time to search and the do a new topic.
I'd like to have a real Adobe support-team! To interchange in an easy way (please no more these horrible mails: "I need more infos to the feature request" After drafting my wishes in the way the support will have, half an hour is…

Option for fly-out menus to open to the right.
Would it be possible to have an option for the fly-out menus to open to the right to keep the live page area fully visible? It's hard working on spreads in book interiors because any window open covers part of the text. If I have room to shift the spread over, InDesign automatically re-centers the spread when I turn to the next page. (Sample window was chosen in PNG because it's generic.)

Find/Change tags
This is important in order to save time and avoid using third-party code editors, especially when edits have been made in InDesign such as anchored images being placed only on some listed items, that won't render in them.

Add length property to Indesign DOM

Tool to check for if Adobe Creative Cloud Network Endpoints are being blocked by firewall
For those of us deployed in large organisations with indifferent IT departments.
It would be useful in Adobe provided a tool to check which of the (100+?) required Adobe Creative Cloud Network Endpoints were blocked by our firewall.
It is not always clear which endpoint is being blocked.
If Adobe provided a Creative Cloud App or web tool that checked your network and then provided a nice report we could present to the stubborn IT bods (who insist they have whitelisted all 100+ adobe links)(let not get started on why there have to be so many! Or why therer…

Form Button Functionality Post to Social Media
Add a functionality option to form buttons that would allow for posting to social media (Facebook, Twitter etc.). This would allow the user to post an image of the form to social media (without the button showing) This would allow designers to create "form templates" that would allow the users even in Reader to post to social media.

improve software stability and cpu usage
ID has become increasingly unstable and memory hogging -
I'm using an 18-month old MacBook Pro; software regularly crashes; hogs cpu resources; slows mac down (performance significantly improves when I disable all adobe software) and unable to load files after ID software updates.2 votes -
Better offline interactive products.
More and more product needs to be interactive.
Indesign allows us to make beautiful interactive pdf's. But there's a problem, the i-pdf doesn't work on all pdf-viewers and pre-viewers. Only adobe-reader or opening in the browser, but not directly from for example Gmail.Also some functions in indesign could work much better, for example the button; it work perfectly as an roll-over, but not as a click-go-to-pageX. Those functions should be usable together.
Can we make an i-pdf feel like/work as an offline website?And i would love to see more features/functions!

Edit undo on specific object or page
It would be great to be able to select an object or page and undo the last change that you made to it.
I think this would be good in illustrator too.

Path to be for every action (open/save/import ...) the same in dialog
Indesign in CS had the feature that every path in every dialogue was the same (when you opened a doc the import path was the same as well). Nowadays I feel like using Xpress all over again: every dialog has the path it had from the last access (open would be e.g. on C:\, place file on D:\foo\bar and so on. Can there maybe a checkbox to sync paths between the open dialogues that indesign manages?

Querverweise
Querverweise in andere Dokumente funktioniert nicht zuverlässig. Entwerden stürzt INDesign ständig ab oder die Performance ist so stark eingeschränkt, dass man quasi in InDesign nicht mehr arbeiten kann, da die Dokumente, auf die verwiesen wird ständig im Hintergrund geöffnet und wieder geschlossen werden.

I opened my Indesign program and a message asked if I could provide input on how to improve Indesign. Here is my reply.
I tried to write this response in the "Help Improve Adobe Products" window that opens up on launch of Indesign, but I ran out of space:
Indesign has layer after layer after layer of instructions on how do even the most common things. The problem is that in order to understand one layer, you have to understand at least the terminology and concepts of the other layers. These days, when you open the box for many devices there is a quick set up document included. I recommend that you do something like that. But not with instructional videos. Someitimes you…2 votes
