Allowing the Data Merge feature to tile pages for final Print or PDF.
Allowing the Data Merge feature to tile documents for Print or PDF. I would love to take my 8.5 x 11" , file with one image and some copy being pulled from a data source to be able to print or PDF right from the data merge dialog box and specify to place 4 or more up on a page.

Add length property to Indesign DOM

Maintain Stable Versions
Maintain a specific version until a client understands and accepts the update. Surprise changes wastes time and adds frustration. All of a sudden things like Shading pops up in my text and I do not know where it came from and there is nothing in the help system that points me to the very simple method to either change or turn it off. As an example Ctrl + Shift + U adds or removes underlines. In my case the text is highlighted with a random color.

Please add readonly area property to all shapes (Rectangle, polygon, ...) which contains the total surface coverage. This property should be accessible using scripting... This is already present in Illustrator ...

Tool to check for if Adobe Creative Cloud Network Endpoints are being blocked by firewall
For those of us deployed in large organisations with indifferent IT departments.
It would be useful in Adobe provided a tool to check which of the (100+?) required Adobe Creative Cloud Network Endpoints were blocked by our firewall.
It is not always clear which endpoint is being blocked.
If Adobe provided a Creative Cloud App or web tool that checked your network and then provided a nice report we could present to the stubborn IT bods (who insist they have whitelisted all 100+ adobe links)(let not get started on why there have to be so many! Or why therer…

Incompatibility with Mac OS High Sierra
I just updated my Mac OS to Sierra 10.13.2. I can no longer use my pre-2017 InDesign. The program opens but none of the console works and it gets 'stuck' so that I cannot even ask the program to close once opened. Is there a fix? Thanks.

Expand file name & exported file name instead of task bar in background task palette
In the background task palette the progress is shown by a growing bar plus a percentage number (double feature for what reason?).
But there is not enough space to display the full file name and the name of the exported file (screenshot 1). Even if you enlarge the palette (screenshot 2) the only change is a bigger progress bar – and no change within displaying the file names.
Yes, I know: the full file names are displayed when I do a mouseover, but expanding the fields of the file names if you expand the whole palette would be a small…

Add Layer Name to the options under Type/Text Variable/Insert Variable
We create a base version and save that as the file name, which we can add to our slug line as Inserted Text, then we have multiple versions which we have to manually add to the slug line before we release proofs to the client. Having the layer inserted into the slug line would be a great improvement to time/accuracy .

Remove hyperlink:
Remove hyperlink: There is no simple convenient way to remove a hyperlink. When you check, you find, "Edit Hyperlink" or "Go to destination". So, you go to "Edit" and find the hyperlink field, with the only option to delete the hyperlink being the word/letter info of the link that's in the entire field. But then it won't let you do that, saying: "! Invalid Entry". So, you have to reenter the text you had hyperlinked, then delete the text with the hyperlink. 19 votesIf you have InDesign CC 2019, when you select a Hyperlink and look in the Properties panel, you will see 3 buttons – ‘Remove Hyperlink’, ‘Edit Hyperlink’ and ‘Manage Hyperlink’.
Remove Hyperlink does what it says – it removes the hyperlink. However, it retains the applied Character Style which can be manually changed by clicking the [None] style in the panel.
Manage Hyperlink opens the Hyperlinks panel (if it’s closed) and Edit Hyperlink lets you edit it.Hope this helps.

Media Controller Preview
Something that shows the user what the controllers they are selecting for a video looks like. I change the options and try the Interactivity preview but nothing changes. Reading a description on the help page of what the items in the list mean isn't helping either. A better naming system and a visual preview would be way better here.

Integrate Macbook Pro Touchbar with InDesign
Hi!
I love Adobe InDesign and use it everyday for work. I recently upgraded to a Macbook Pro with a touchbar. Photoshop and Illustrator both support the customized touchbar feature and it is super efficient and awesome to have many tools right there on the touchbar.
As someone who uses InDesign more than the above mentioned adobe programs, I would LOVE to be able to use the touchbar feature in InDesign as well!

Co-creation: Allow multiple designers to work on the same InDesign document
Often we have stringent deadlines to meet. Thus multiple designers work in parallel. It will be helpful if multiple designers can work on same file. Currently only 1 designer can work on the file at a time. This makes the process inefficient.

Auto saving to HTML.
Is it possible to simultaneously save to .idml at same time as saving to native Ind file format? Using tryout now and wanted to save any live work both ways so if I decide not to subscribe, I won't have to go back and save all docs to idml.

Form Button Functionality Post to Social Media
Add a functionality option to form buttons that would allow for posting to social media (Facebook, Twitter etc.). This would allow the user to post an image of the form to social media (without the button showing) This would allow designers to create "form templates" that would allow the users even in Reader to post to social media.

Save as clears history
Save as clears the document undo history, i'd rather it wouldn't. Say you accidentally saved a document in stead of saving as — next you 'save as' so your new work isn't lost — next you wanna undo all the stuff you've done do re-save the original document, but you can't because the history is lost.

Make conversion of older ID documents faster loading
I had the occasion to open a couple of older inDesign documents that are stored on my NAS drive. At first, I thought it was the network speed that took so long until I saw the popup dialog box explaining that conversion was in process. I can't believe how long it took to open the document. Am I the only one experiencing this or is inDesign becoming unproductive?
