  1. ID - Lock option - color fields / color groups

    Hey there,

i wish i could lock color fields / color groups to prevent any resulting sources of error.

For example a fixed logo color which shouldn't be different.

    Kind regards and big thanks!

  2. Load multiple swatches

The lack of ability to load multiple swatches in one go in Indesign is frustrating. Having to do it one at a time is counter intuitive and time consuming.

  3. PLEASE!!!! The most powerful design app in the world, and after all these years STILL no HSB in the color picker.

Hue, saturation and value are by far the best ways to create and use color, in nearly anything. All of the other color selections/spaces (CMYK, RGB, LAB, etc) should flow from there, secondarily. Illustrator and Photoshop have always supported HSB(V), and yet as amazing a design tool as InDesign is – it still doesn't. Many of us have been asking for years, and I'm surprised that there aren't more requests ... I think many of us have given up. You can do it, Adobe! You would make a lot of designers very happy, and add a very powerful missing feature…

  5. Add swatch to default list for future use

When you create a swatch in colour picker and add it to swatches, give an option to "add to default" menu, so it forms part of the default set when you open a new document.

  6. Ability to define a swatch that has a transparent gradient.

I want to create a swatch in the swatches palette that goes from X% color to no color. The same end result as applying a gradient feather effect but in a swatch so if I apply that swatch to an underline option in a text frame that is sitting above a non-solid color/image, the fade goes transparent and we don't see it fade to white.

  7. Searchable colors

I think it would be beneficial to have searchable color names in the swatches - so if I were to be replacing one color with another, I could type the name of the color I am looking to replace. to narrow down my search.

  8. Color/swatches Library

In PS and AI, there're a lot of built-in color/gradient libraries, and when you want to select a color, you ca just append them or open a color library, but in indesign, there're no ways you can do so, a lot of the color selecting work is done by guessing unless you know which color you want to choose

I hope there will be a built-in color library (if the interactive buttons can have a built-in library and why don't we add a sample color library?

I know the "Official" way to do this is using Adove Color Theme Panel,…

  9. Color Picker Shortcut

There are a bunch of ways to select color in InDesign, but the easiest and omnipotent way is using color picker, unfortunately, there's no way to call it out in Indesign unless you double-click the fill/stroke icon in the tools panel

and theres no way to add a customised shortcut to the color picker panel as well. I really wish to see this feature in future InDesign

  10. Order of colour swatches when loading from another document

When loading colour swatches from other documents, can you please adjust the program so it brings them in from top to bottom or the same order as the document it comes from. It is so frustrating they load from the bottom of the list first and have to manually pull the main colours back up to the top every time. And there doesn't seem to be a button to switch the order. Unless you can advise me...

  11. Same color management in all adobe product

This will be a great feature for simplicity and collaborative work.

Actually, each program have a different system for choose color, and I'm sure you can improve that with give the same logical and features in all program.
Import photoshop palet in Indesign or Illustrator and vice versa...
Add the Color them Tool in photoshop and Illustrator...and maybe why not in After Effect and Premiere...
Sure you can do something great and identical in all your great products, even if you have not need CMJN/Pantone etc.. colors in video projects.

  12. Conditional colours for chapters

When we work with chapters and styles, sometimes we have a different thematic colour by chapter. It would be very interesting to define one or several conditional chapter colours for a section. We define the "Conditional chapter colour" in styles and depending on the page, these colours change. So, there is no need to create multiple styles with same parameters but different colours within the document or there is no need to split the document to play with these different parameters. Everything is in the same document and it is easier if we need to change the colour palette.

    Many…

  13. Change Color picker

As a long time photoshop and illustrator user I can't handle the InDesign color picker. For a while I would get my color code from Photoshop/illustrator then copy that color into InDesign but it's become such a pain I've stopped using InDesign all together. At least give us an option for a color swatch that matches the other designs. It's literally causing my to give up using the app completely!

  14. The current Pantone Plus Color swatches (Color Bridge in particular) are not being updated when the Adobe software updated with updates

The Pantone Swatches do not update when updating Adobe software in the cloud. And updating with Pantone Color Manager is completely inane.

I have the most recent update for Adobe (InDesign CC Release 2017.1, and a build of 12.1.0.56 x64) and have loaded the most recent Pantone Color Manager to update the Pantone Plus Color Bridge colors (i started with one color library... updating all libraries would take at least a half day)

    After updating:

  15. Stop Giving a Fill Color When Using the Line Tool.

My OCD makes me switch the fill color (when using the line tool) to No Color. It would be great if there was no fill color when using the line tool.

  16. A button to convert or set swatches from Coated or Uncoated PMS to the opposite in a instant. Like a master switch.

In Prepress there are 2 sets of PMS swatches, and clients do not know when to use either correctly or use both on the same layout.

We need a master switch to use either/or, and be able to switch between them with a click of a button. I would think this would be a page setting or something.

I have attached a zip containing 2 indesign files, 1 of which has been provided by our client and the other has the UNCOATED swatches converted to COATED for press print.

It happens to have a color in the color palette that we do not know where it is placed in the document because it's not visible. It would be useful for InDesign to select it and show you where it is.

  18. Could we have a 'go to colour' link within Indesign like you do for image links please

It would be really helpful when editing colours within an document to be able to see where a colour has been used before deleting it. I know you can always replace it then convert back but it would be helpful to see where it was being used beforehand.

  19. Update changes in CC Library Color Swatches in objects using theses colors

At the moment I have to change every single objekt wich uses the changed color manually. There should be a Library-Function to do this automatically.

    That would be REALLY helpful.

  20. Non-transparant inks

We, a printshop using offset and digital (HP-Indigo) presses, are using non-transpartant spot-colors like White or Foil. Indesign handles spot-colors as transparant. For normal inks, this is OK, but not for those mentioned, since these are opaque. I know the overprint-attribute does something almost similar, but it's not exactly the same.

So i need an option to define a spotcolor as 'Non-Transparent'.

It seems to me that for screen-printing this would also be a valuable option.
