  1. Responsive palette sizing

It would be nice if palettes would resize more intelligently.

Having the Swatches palette shrink down to 2 swatches high while having 3 pages of empty space in the Pages palette or having to click through all of the states of Align to access Distribute because I had to collapse it enough scroll down 5 spreads is annoying.

Having some form of dynamic sizing with priority given to cursor:hover (perhaps weighted by which tool or object is selected.... priority to relevant palettes) seems like it might help.

  2. I want "Turn Off Tooltips" back

I hate it that every time I update InDesign, I have to see all these hover boxes that want to walk me through what's new in this version. This always happens when I'm in a hurry and I just want to do something without having to wait for the Clippy-like helper box to dismiss itself. If I want to know what's new in the current version, I know I can find that information. These 'helper' tips are annoying beyond belief.

  3. Compare Indesign Documents

    @Adobe:
I often have to deal with INDD documents which seem to be identicaln but ofte there is a small veraiation. It would be super cool if there´s a function directly in InDesign like in Acrobat to compare 2-3 documents side by side.

    cheers Aleks

  4. More intuitive Page move UI

    Pages palette:
In a non facing pages document, when moving a page, the indicator line for the destination is shown beside a page. I would expect it above/beneath a page.

  5. Allow us to minimize the application in a window, like any other reasonable, modern day application. I mean, seriously, wtf?

  6. Remove unnecessary banner in CC Libraries panel

Every time, after any new start of InDesign (14.0.3 and in previous versions too, on mac), an useless info banner is showing when opening CC Libraries panel. Only once at session, but every day again and again. Please, REMOVE THIS...

  7. Properties Panel - make it customisable

I'd like to be able to add things that I use often to it.

For example, with nothing selected, it has the options for the Document Layout.
I would like to add to that to include

Export PDF - and select my proof settings

So in essence - I could add the options to export to
    Print Ready PDF
    Proof PDF
    Image file format

etc. - just to be able to add those things would make this panel even better.

There are other things I'd like to add to this property panel - but that's the general idea, and everyone…

  8. Re-separating the tool menu

You combined the tool menu in the right panel, but now I have to scroll down to the align section every time I want to adjust something. In InDesign, I'm mostly creating forms or schedules where I realign things constantly. It was more convenient before. Either put align at the top of the panel, or re-separate the panel. I can't drag align to the top of it either. If I could even just reorganize it, it would be better.

  9. Conditional Text Pallet

Please add the "Show and Print" option next to the "eye" in the "Conditional Text" palette in the form of check-boxes, so that everyone can choose which condition should be printed and which only displayed. Now you can only do this in bulk for all defined conditions.

This will be very useful in the arrangements between the editorial office and the dtp.

  10. Please add a history panel to InDesign, like Photoshop's

This is a very helpful feature, saving time and enabling the user to track what they've done. Thank you.

  11. Align & Distribute Objects with Keyboard Shortcuts

Implement the keyboard shortcuts that are already used for this exact feature from Adobe XD!

    CMD, CTRL, arrows (mac)
    CTRL, shift, arrows (pc)
Up aligns top, down aligns bottom, left aligns left, right aligns right.

CMD, CTRL M (mac) / shift M (pc)
    Align horizontally (m for middle)

CMD, VTRL C (mac) / shift C (pc)
    Align vertically (c for centre)

CMD, CTRL, V (mac) / CTRL, shift V (pc) Distribute vertically

CMD, CTRL, H (mac) / CTRL, shift H (pc) Distribute horizontally

  12. Save workspaces

I just got a new machine and have no access to my previous saved workspaces. Seems like a pretty basic feature to have, and a timesaving one.

  14. As an admin I need the visibility of usage of my provisioned licenses.

Admins need to be able to view usage of licenses.
IE: Last time used and what features are being used by which individuals.

  15. Add a "Pin to Recent" setting for InDesign documents

I have files that I occasionally use that I'd love to access without drilling down on a remote server to find them every time. Being able to pin (or unpin) a document file to the Open Recent list would be a great convenience. This would prevent it from being pushed off the end of the list.

  16. Make Ink Manager panel resizable

Title says it all. Sometimes we have a lot of spotcolors. I would be nice to see them all at once.

  17. InDesign Preview For Finder

There really should be an InDesign preview for Mac Finder. This should be a requirement for your software and should not be considered a feature request.

  18. Please add an Ink Manager indicator in Swatches panel

Add an indicator to Swatches panel, showing which swatches are affected by Ink Manager. Would help prepress and collaborators know the true story of document swatches.
NOTE: this has been proposed by other users, but I was asked to post this after I tweeted about it. So forgive redundancy. Or take it as a sign that it's a good idea. ;-)

  19. Style Application "Tool Tips"

When I create a "complex" style definition with a long set of embedded styles and a "next" style, I want my coworkers and contractors to apply the full style to the correctly selected copy by using the "Apply (style) then Next Style, Clear Overrides" option (right-click Style Name in the Styles Menu).

I would be great if I could attach a "Tool Tip" ("Style Application Tip?") to the Style Name in the Menu--it would appear on application of the style, or perhaps on rollover. Attaching the Tip to Templated Objects on the page would be great also.

    Basically, I want…

  20. When relinking files, prefer to show entire filename instead of path

When relinking files a dialogue oops up where the relinked file is selected. At the top of the dialogue the path to the file is shown. If there isn't enough space for the entire path, including filename, it is condensed by removing some text in the middle. If there is enough room to show the entire filename that should be shown. The path to the file is not as important as the name of the file, especially when relinking multiple files which are often in the same folder and I am already looking in that folder.
