  1. Recent Pane improvements

I would like to suggest some improvements for the "Recent" pane across all Adobe programs.

    • Right click the preview thumbnail, and have the option to select "Reveal in explorer"

    • When having one or more files open, be able to return to view this "Recent" pane (in a tab perhaps)

  3. eGPU

Fix the acceleration GPU menu for choosing what GPU to use on Mac OS X High Sierra. Indesign seems hanged only on internal GPU available.

  4. Properties Panel

I have been enjoying the consolidated Properties Panel that recently debuted in Illustrator 2018. Makes workflow much faster. Would be great to see this for InDesign as well!

  5. Showing open book files on Start workspace

    Situation now:
When opening a book file Indesign adds a book panel showing all contained documents. You can then open documents through this panel. I usually dock the panel to the right with my other panels to keep the workspace tight and clean.

    But now the tricky part:
When I close all documents I've set Indesign to return to the Start workspace. This shift to another workspace makes the book panel disappear as well (since it is docked with the other panels). I have to go to the menus to find the panel again.
I guess the reason for this…

  6. I want a generic command to repeat the least command I executed. Like control-Y does in the much-hated MS Word....Saves time.

I want a generic command to repeat the least command I executed. Like control-Y does in the much-hated MS Word....Saves time.

I often wind up doing the same thing many times, like applying a char style or whatever. I want a keyboard shortcut to repeat whatever I did last.

  7. Do not recalculate values entered into fields in other units

When I enter a leading in mm, InDesign will always recalculate to pt. Please give us the possibility, that InDesign does not recalculate values entered in other units.

Or at least give us the possibility to change the field value into different units. Now I have to blindly try out or use my calculator if I see a leading of »12,756 Pt« – is it 4,5mm or 4,45mm or what?

  9. I hate the "Search is completed" or "Cannot find match" messages after searches

Specifically I hate having to click OK to close the message.
Could the same messages just appear in the search window itself instead of the current alert? Maybe with color to make it obvious?

  10. Setting to automatically update links on Open

Allow an option/setting to disable the dialog when opening a document with updated links and if a link has been updated it updates or doesn't update it automatically based upon the User Setting.

  11. Appearance Panel

Illustrator has the Appearance Panel. InDesign should have it too. I want to have multiple fills, and strokes to be behind the fills.

  12. Mute ruler contrast to reduce UI clutter

Just a small idea, but would it be possible to reduce the contrast in the ruler markings slightly. There's a lot going on in the ID UI and reducing the contrast of the ruler markings to remain in the window's inactive state color - light gray - even when in active state greatly reduces the amount of noise onscreen. Would also make the dashed cursor position indicators easier to spot (currently they're impossible to see amidst the high contrast markings).

  13. Background tasks and glyphs panel width matching other panels

I would love to be able to incorporate the Background tasks and glyphs panel width to my other panels.

These panels are too wide and so cannot be included in my sidebar

  15. Ability to manipulate illustrator sublayers in Object Layer Options dialogue

It would be great to be able to manipulate (turn on and off) illustrator sublayers in the Object Layer Options dialogue.

I use the adobe suite for urban design mapping and analysis where we work with many layers to describe the complex nature of the city/area we are working in. We are often working with 40+ layers, many of which could be 'grouped' or collected into a single layer, however when placing the same .ai file multiple times in a report, we need to retain the ability to turn layers on or off to suit different data sets. This create…

  16. Add "Page" to the "Search in:" options, for both Find/Change and Spell Check

In Find/Change and Spell Check dialogs, we have ability to search within a [Story] [To end of story] [Selection] or [Document]. I would like to see [Current Page] added that options list. Even better would be the ability to specify a [Page Range XX-XX]

[Story] is too specific when we have a bunch of separate text boxes to search through. And [Document] is often way too broad for large documents, and it also searches master pages that we may not wish to search. [Current Page] or [Page Range] would be a really nice middle-ground for both regular Find/Changes and Spell…

  19. InDesign 2018 USER INTERFACE STILL TOO SMALL!

Over the years I (and others) have requested that the UI of InDesign be scalable. As designers, our eyes navigate us thru the creative process.
IT IS NOT EASY to readily decipher palettes and menus which sport MICROSCOPIC TYPE on a 28-inch, high-resolution monitor.
It IMPEDES workflow if one is spending extra time trying to find and choose things on the interface.
At least give us a choice! Smaller, Medium, Large, Extra-large.

    When will Adobe get this??????

  20. Universal UI & Export Feature

Can it please be possible to export your workspace to then import it onto another computer so we don't have to re-arrange everything every time we move or have to reinstall?

It would be even better if when we log into our Adobe ID on any device, that our own workspace arrangement loads.
