Tool
Thank you for awesome Version. But I felt some lack there. When I jump from move tool to Text tool it won't response quickly. Whole InDesign sw hanging.
second one for improvement in toolbar. When I click Short cut "I" the eyedropper should open but color theme tool opened. Please make defaut Eyedropper

Footnotes -- align to bottom of page
I have struggled for hours and searched everything I can find to learn if Adobe has EVER YET come up with a method to align footnotes to the exact bottom of a page or text frame. Mine ride a little high here, a little low there, depending on various things happening in the main text, so that I can't get a consistent align-to-bottom and always must deal with this. Would like the Links panel to show status, resolution, color information for linked AI and PDF
It would be helpful to be able to view the following information for linked AI and PDF files in InDesign's links panel:
- Color space of linked AI and PDF files
- Status of any links or embedded art in linked AI and PDF files
- Effective resolution for links or embedded art in linked AI and PDF files

Adjust Layout - Off by default please.
Finding the new Adjust Layout in InDesign 2019 a bit of a liability as is turned ON by default.
Can you please add a setting to turn off globally and turn on only when needed? Currently doesn't seem possible.

211 votesThe fix for this issue is now available in the latest update (14.0.2) of InDesign 2019.
If you are unable to see the update notification, open the menu (three dots) from the top-right of Creative Cloud desktop application and click on ‘Check For App Updates’.
Once the update button is shown against InDesign, click on the button to update to Id 14.0.2.If you face any problems with the new update, do let us know in the comments.

Allow Webp files to be used.
I know .webp is a web based format. webp should be a fuctional supported file format in All Adobe products without an aftermarket plugin.
If I am missing how to do this I would appreciate any info that can be provided.

If importing feature raw files will possible, Photographers and layout artists are be happy for a very long time.

Onion skin layer for design notes to developer
Was just chatting with our UX lead and we thought it'd be great to have a master layer, fixed to the top of the layer panel called something like 'Design Notes' make handoff to dev easier with a few design notes included in the file itself but not a distraction when not needed.

Mini Bridge was an awesome feature that I, as a graphic designer, miss greatly. It made laying out books that were hundreds of pages long with tons of pictures so much easier!! Please bring it back!

Allow Images/PSD's to be set to overprint using attributes panel
Allow images/psd's to be set to overprint within indesign like text and fill options in the attributes panel, this will allow for complex printing requirements to be done more easily. for example if you need to overprint and image onto a white ink base that has been set to a spot colour so the printer can print white onto clear vinyl then print a CMYK image on top without the white ink base knocking out.

Copying Links to folder fails
Oftentimes, when I try to copy links to a folder, it fails. No explanation as to why. It's happened dozens of times. Occasionally, it works. Usually not, though.
I am running InDesign 13.1 on Mac OS 10.13.6

Package items included on pasteboard
Basically our agency puts together loads of creative presentations in inDesign.
A great way to do this is having mock-ups on main page, but build an associated inDesign editable graphic and we normally put that to the side so if we need to make changes we can do on fly and get the editable file right which we can then very quickly update a PSD smart object mock-up for example. So we can keep all workings in one ID doc and it is easy to manage.

Take into account alternate layouts when generating / updating tables of contents
Create a (say) 20-page A4 document with a table of contents (sections, subsections and whatever).
Then create an alternate layout of this document, for an A5 paper size. This should make the A5 version about 40 pages long.We can create and update the table of contents for the A4 layout, but we cannot specify a 2nd ToC for the A5 layout, that takes into account the page numbers, as they are adjusted in the alternate layout(s). If we link the A4 ToC to the A5 layout, its contents will display the pagination of the A4 version.

Improve handling of font files by consolidating and normalising fonts internally
Font handling for multiple font file types is broken: if a given typeface represents weights using font files of different types, then different parts of InDesign will handle the font differently. Nowhere will it appear as one family with all weights below it. Because the presentation of the problem is significantly different between InDesign subsystems (paragraph style setting and setting font from the tool bar, for example) this might indicate refactoring is in order to ensure all subsystems handle fonts the same way.

Grouped items revert to previous layers when moved then ungrouped
InDesign CC 13.1, Windows 10
When I have a group that contains items from various layers, and I move this to a new layer, when I ungroup those items they revert back to their original layers.
I understand the concept that grouping remembers layers, and I like this feature! It used to bug me that grouping brought everything onto the same layer, sometimes altering the appearance. However this seems like an unintended consequence.

Please create a new visual identifier for missing glyphs rather than using the same pink color that indicates 'missing font'. I have just answered for the 3rd time a client's question why "The text is all in pink boxes but the Find Font dialog says there's no missing font, how can this be?!"
