Set Solid Leading for Text
Having a Set Solid Leading Option for Text would be amazing as I regularly use this setting and have to manually change the leading everytime I change the point size (and sometimes when you're working out the perfect point size and spacing for a layout, this doubles the work having to change the leading everytime too).

Last Sentence Nested Style Option
Add an option that will allow you to set up nested text at the end of a paragraph in addition to the beginning of paragraphs. Our magazine bolds the last sentences in one of columns and this would be a big time saver.
1 voteDoes including a GREP Style in your Paragraph Style to detect the last sentence in a Paragraph work? You can then automatically apply a Character Style to it.

Insert special character — Unicode compliance
Unicode is required to meet accessibility standards and several forms of publishing technologies.
The keyboard shortcuts and right-click/opt-click Insert Special Characters shortcuts need to be updated to insert the Unicode versions of these glyphs.
The Unicode glyph charts are at www.Unicode.org

Indesign CS6 and prior one could easily make footnotes inline for multiple footnotes in a page. Now with the new Version it is gone.
Indesign CS6 and prior one could easily make footnotes inline for multiple footnotes in a page. Now with the new Version it is gone. Please bring back the simplicity of the footnotes and try not to mess up what works. Now the forced and default spacing between the footnotes does not allow for inline Footnotes. Even Peter Karhel’s script does not work.

Add Selected to Dictionary
With the dictionary and spelling options the phenomena of names of places and companies , multi word names that include irregular spelling the idea of add selected text to dictionary should be available. This would let the software searching for spelling errors include the names as a part of the algorithm.

Underlining that skips characters with descenders
While it is a last resort in typography, when I do underline I prefer it to be just below the baseline. But this default underline overlaps descenders. Rather than having to lower underlines to avoid these clashes, could the Underline Options panel or another feature detect when an underline will overlap a descender and skip that character? - Thanks!

Highlight text to format into columns
In Microsoft Word, you can highlight text and make into columns. That would be great for InDesign too, instead of multiple text frames. For instance, one text frame for a heading, another for two column text. If something changes, go back and repeat.

Correction of double spaces between words
Since I mostly write directly in InDesign to get the text in combination with pictures I very often have to adjust that there are two or more spaces between words, which is not flagged in the software. In other writing softwares this is always taken care of but not in InDesign. I discover this problem now and then but not always.
It would be a good help with such a function.2 votes -
Keyboard Shortcut / Menu Command to Edit Text of Selected Frame
There is currently no way to edit text in an already-selected frame other than using the mouse to enter the frame. As everyone knows, mousing is less efficient than using keyboard shortcuts.
Please add a menu command and a keyboard shortcut to edit text of the selected frame.
The most logical thing to do would probably be to use ESC. ESC is already the keyboard shortcut to switch from text selection to editing. It should just be the toggle.
(This might prompt the question: where should the cursor be placed? I would say just place it at the beginning of…

Highlight show rags from multiple text boxes ( almost like a smart guide for rags)
A live view feature that shows the edges of rags so you can optically adjust with all rags in view into consideration - instead of dragging multiple ruler guides or whatever.
Saves time and provides tighter control of text and layout
Thanks

Equivalent to Ai's 'Hide Edes' to hide selection higlighting
When choosing a color or a font for text, it's very hard to judge the appearance when the selected text is hilighted/inversed.
A function like Illustrator's 'Hide Edges' (cmd-H) would be of great help, to invisible select text.2 votes -
alignment and custom footnotes etc
I would like to see some more feature as described below, so this powerful too will be a step ahead for an Advance Page Layout tool. Here are some of them:
Some custom footnotes so can can add daggers and other symbols exactly like MSWord not the current features. This should be like first symbol, then 1, 2, 3 etc.
Customizing Text box sequence so it will be more intuitive for numbering figures. Think about I've add 100 of figures numbering text box using numbering features, then at editing page need to rearrange/adding/remove some figures, in this it won't work…

Multiple baselines
It would be great if a baseline grid could optionally be assigned to a Master page in stead of a whole document.
I am a book designer of sometime very complicated books, were I have to use multiple font sizes and leading.2 votes
