View Verso/Recto Page as Transparent Overlay
Include within View > Extras an option to turn on a transparent and mirrored overlay of the other side of a given page in a book. Allow for customization of transparency and color. Provides a quick way to check the baseline grid is properly aligned and that there wont be conflict with elements on previous page.

Auto recognize type on path with overset text
When using 'type on path' with multiple paths and you have overset text on one path. When clicking on the red plus so you copied the overset text to past it on the next path but it's not possible because InDesign doesn't automatically apply/recognize 'type on path' like in Illustrator.

Baseline Options for Character Styles: vertical alignment to top, base, etc.
Text Frames have Baseline Options where you can set the First Baseline.
Please implement something similar for character styles, to vertically align characters within a line, based on Cap Height, Ascent, Baseline, etc. – similar to CSS.

make insert next page number/previous page number work properly
at the time of writing, this feature only gives the CURRENT page number instead of the previous or next as intended

Define increased/decreased italicisation/***** and weight relatively (independent of font) on Character Styles
If I'm defining a Character Style called "Emphasis", essentially I want to be able to apply this to any text in the document and for that text to be italicised.
However, this doesn't work because:
- I might apply it to a font where the italic style is called "Oblique" not "Italic"
- I might apply it to a font set in Medium. Now it returns to a regular weight with Italics, rather than Medium Italic.
There needs to be a way to define "Increased/Decreased Italicisation/*****" or "Increased/Decreased Weight" on a Character Style. InDesign would then:

Preserve Formatting Pasting text from CC Apps
I just did a nutritional label in ai and linked it to an indesign project, but wanted it to be more flexible using Indesign's text frames. As you know, nutritional labels require a TON of font size and weight variances so it really threw me for a loop that I couldn't retain all the formatting I had done when I pasted the text into indesign. Ruined my day sigh

Text engine compatibility with Illustrator and Photoshop
Ability to copy Illustrator and Photoshop graphics to InDesign so that the text remains editable, in other words does not convert to shapes/paths.

Right Align & Tabs
Allow for tabbing option for right-aligned Text that utilizes tabs to move through the tab stops from right to left, starting with the right-most tabs first and move left accordingly rather than moving to the left-most tab first then filling back in toward the right.1 vote -

Kerning Tables
Can you please build in the ability to export a kerning table for a font that I have manually kerned so I can use it again and keep adding to it as new combinations come up. This is something that is really restrictive for the Typographers amongst us and one of the things that is still really missed from the Quark days. I appreciate your general optical setting but it's really only a start point for fine tuning.

Text box
Instead of having to click and dragging to make a text box you should be able to click just once to create a text box, like in illustrator.

Outline font in indesign
When you outline font in indesign it should not adjust the stroke weight. Once you outline the font it should stay the same. Also add an expand feature would be nice in indesign so I don't have to keep jumping from program to program.

Preflight profile to target certain problem fonts
Would be nice to have a preflight profile or be able to customize a preflight profile to target certain fonts that are used in linked pdfs from customers. We Use Enfocus to process art and whenever Customers use Free or unlicensed versions of a certain font it causes Enfocus server to crash. Identifying these fonts when first placed in indesign would save our designers and printers time and many headaches. I do get warnings every once in a while, but it doesn't catch all of them. A preflight profile as a secondary check would be most helpful.

... wie bei den Farbfeldern: „Alle nicht verwendeten [Absatzformate] auswählen“ als Option im Absatzformate-Fenster.
Außerdem im 'Suchen und Ersetzen‘-Fenster (oder woanders) die Möglichkeit, ein angewendetes Absatzformat suchen zu können.

Give us a way to turn off "Space between paragraphs of same style"
I don't know why this new typesetting option was considered useful, but it is driving me crazy. Is there a way to turn it off?

Option for creating variable sets
At present we have an option to define the variables but it would be great to have an option to group the variables (like a set). This could help the writers in easily managing the content.
