Update only some pages of an earlier exported PDF
When Exporting a big document, sometimes after a change it would be nice to update only the changed page in the exported file.
- it would save time as the export would complete faster
- no need to have all the linked files of the whole document locally just to update one page
- it would save me exporting one one some pages and then opening the old PDF file in Acrobat and replacing the updated page manually.1 vote -

Enhanced Rendering Intent Options
Currently, InDesign allows us to set rendering intents for pixel-based images. However, it would be extremely beneficial if this functionality could be extended to vector objects and objects that have a LAB color space.
Here are the specific enhancements I’m proposing:
Vector Objects: Provide options to set rendering intents for individual vector objects. This would give users more flexibility in managing the color output of vector graphics within their designs.

Export interactive elements from placed/nested indd files
Interactive pdf elements are currently ignored if indd file is placed within another indd file for export.
Ideal behaviour would be that the parent indd would "inherit" or "compile" the interacctive elements of the linked file at export.

Playing GIFs in InDesign, improve export to PDF
Currently there is no way to add a GIF image to the indesign file. In my case I would like to place a GIF image into my portfolio with ability to export it into PDF keeping the play function of the image. Neither in InDesign nor PDFs support this feature and the only way is to present it is to export into EPUB which is useless for the sake of the portfolio sharing as if it limits how file could be reviewed. PDF export function with the selection of which metadata or whether general metadata of pictures should be exported.
Many companies and also designers are not aware that they share sensitive content on their websites via the metadata for expamle in pictures, if these were uploaded directly after the InDesign PDF Export.
Many PDFs created with InDesign that you can find online from large companies contain very accurate, detailed information such as mails/phone numbers/patient information/non-public addresses/etc (for example Metadatas from Images embedded wihtin the exported PDF). This is a privacy conflict and in some countries a violation of existing laws.

Let me export page ranges to separate PDFs
I typed in page ranges to export (i.e. 1-2, 3-4, 5-6) and was just stuck with each page in a separate PDF. Was surprised that exporting page ranges to separate PDFs was not already functional using this method.

Add preflight correction options like converting text to paths from Acrobat to the PDF export dialogue.
I often have to open documents in Acrobat just to convert the text into paths. Doing it in InDesign is not an option for me as it I often need the text to be editable in the InDesign file after exporting.
This could be either a single checkbox called convert text to paths or even a new Tab called PDF Corrections beneath Advanced, Security, Summary, etc where all the pdf correction options from Acrobats preflight menu are.

More features in buttons and forms
InDesign needs to add color/format options to the buttons and forms, specifically the fillable forms part so when you export, the form can be more than just black.

Page jump links
Hi! Just finished a document for a client. I had to export it to pdf and create all the page jump links in Acrobat. InDesign wouldn't let me keep the links I created when exporting to pdf. Hyperlinks, yes they work great. Page jump links for documents? We NEED this for client brochures, flipping books etc. I will be giving this artwork to the InHouse team so it's very clunky to have to give them the Packaged InDesign file and a pdf that contains all the selected areas that link to page jumps. Keep range highlighted in pdf window so you don't have to highlight it by hand
When selecting a pdf preset, it opens the window to name the pdf, then opens the pdf window. In InDesign 5, you were able, at that pdf window, to just type the page number of the page you wanted to create a pdf of. The range option was already highlighted automatically. This was really easy and fast when creating multiple (especially 100 or more) pdfs of single pages of your document, for example: for a magazine or booklet that has to be sent to a printer. Password Protect PDF Properly
I spoke to the support people who seemed to believe that it ok that locked pdf can be edited by third party software just not adobe software. If it is editable by anything it isnt protected. Add all DC Pro Roles to inDesign Export Mapping
Currently, the export mapping for styles in inDesign is limited and does not include all the tags that are available in DC Pro. Some important tags that are missing are BlockQuote, Note, and Caption. This creates a lot of accessibility remediation on the pdf side because of role mapping is incorrect. If I have s style in inDesign called Caption then I should be able to use the export mapping features of that style to assign it to the reserved word Caption in DC Pro.
